Retro Honeycomb Paper Christmas Decorations are Back!

Red Honeycomb Bell Christmas Decoration If you're of a certain age, then you will certainly remember those honeycomb paper tissue decorations we used to hang in our homes during the Christmas holidays back in the day - I particularly remember the bell shaped decorations. Some of the colours were pretty ghastly (orange and yellow anyone?), but they were pretty designs nonetheless, and more eco-friendly than the foil decorations that followed them. With the trend towards ditching plastic, paper decorations are seeing a big resurgence in popularity, and the honeycomb shapes now come in rather more pleasent colours, thankfully! There's never been a better time to ditch the plastic and give your home a retro vibe, so I'm going to take a look at some of the best decorations around for Christmas 2019. Unique Party on Amazon have a nice range of honeycomb decorations, including the bell at the top of this post, and also a snowman, hat, tree and mini santa. The colours are t

Iconic Doctor Who Fashion from the 80s

If you watched Doctor Who back in the 1980s, then you can't fail to remember some of the iconic (and not so iconic) fashion looks worn by the four Doctors. For this post, I'm going to take a look back at the classic 80s Doctor's costumes, from Tom Baker to Sylvester McCoy. Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor The Fourth Doctor This is probably the most iconic look from the classic series, and Tom Baker is often voted for as the most popular Doctor in polls. He was certainly my favourite Doctor, and his iconic look was based on a painting of Aristide Bruant by Lautrec. If you want to dress like the fourth Doctor, you need an autumnal Victorian poet look using plaid and tweed, with that overly long multi-coloured striped scarf, brown suede fedora hat , a brown frock coat, burgundy cravat, tweed waistcoat, and grey plaid trousers. Add wild curly hair, mad eyes and a packet of jelly babies, and you'll look uncannily like the fourth Doctor! Fourth Doctor Scarf T

Aston Villa 1982 Football Shirts

Official Aston Villa 1982 Home Football Shirt Celebrate Aston Villa's European Cup win of 1982 with these official, replica football shirts. If you're a Villa fan over a certain age, then you will certainly remember the golden years of the early 1980s, when the team won their  first league title for 71 years on May 2nd 1981, leaving Ipswich Town unamused in second place! The Villa then beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the European Cup Final in Rotterdam on 26th May 1982, with Peter Withe (remember him?) scoring the winning goal in the 67th minute. Praise must also go to goalkeeper Nigel Spink, who pulled off some magnificent saves, and without him I think Villa would have certainly lost the game.  These were golden years, indeed, and it's sad to see the team currently struggling near the bottom of the Premier league, although the fans have grown used to the struggles over the years! But here's hoping they don't get relegated yet again. I found these officially

New Kids On The Block 80s T-Shirt

New Kids On The Block T-shirt It's hard to believe that 33 years have now passed since the American boy band New Kids on the Block first hit the UK charts with their single "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" - now I've made you feel old! For a brief period, NKOTB became huge in both the UK and U.S., and you may well remember plastering your bedroom walls with posters from Smash Hits or other teen pop magazines.  You can celebrate those long lost years with this awesome 80s style T-shirt, which features the faces of the five band members. So do you remember all their names? They were, of course brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg and Joey McIntire. I adore the design and it really looks like it was teleported right from 1989! Anyone who was a teenager back then will certainly remember that this graphic style, and those colours were certainly very popular back then. Did you know that the band reformed in 2008 and are still performin

Create an 80s Aerobics Fashion Look

Let's Get Physical 80s Workout Costume During the early 1980s, it felt like the whole world had gone aerobics crazy. Females everywhere donned leotards, leggings, headbands and legwarmers, and some were even on rollerskates! Pop stars and actresses were responsible for starting the craze. Olivia Newton-John started a headband fad after the release of here raunchy Physical video in 1981, and the song quickly became an aerobics anthem. And just about every home had a Jane Fonda workout video in their collection - often proudly on display on a book shelf in the living room, or carefully placed on a coffee table for all to see. However, contrary to popular belief, not everyone was wearing neon. Take a look back at the old workout videos and you'll see a whole range of colours and styles being worn. Some leotards were shiny, some had stripes and others were pastel. Zebra stripes, leopard print, and splatter paint designs were also worn by some. There were often (but not always)
